To Toss or not to Toss?

This is the time of year I begin to go through my stuff...boxes of materials, decor items I tossed into the empty Christmas bins, closets, clothing, etc. And I ask myself....Will I use this item again?

Well this year, while decorating the house, I rummaged through several Christmas boxes, looking for specific items, only to realize that they were tossed (or donated) a year or two ago. I am kicking myself over this.... Then again, storage in my home is not unlimited (no basements...we hit water here!)...and MacDaddy needs to have a bit of space, too.

How long do you keep your "stuff"?

made from used sailsCheck out Maya's New Year's giveaway... Really cool things made from old sails!

After seeing these pillows etc, I am kicking myself for not keeping our old, worn-out sails. That will teach me from tossing things out! Click on the link below...

Isn't that the way it always goes? I do this, too! It never fails that I need something once I've disposed of it. LOL!

XO,

Sheila :-)

I heard that new show about hoarders is looking for me. I am sincerely trying to get rid of some of my stuff. I've been working on this for the last year, but it seems every time I get rid of one thing, two more show up. I am determined though! I'm moving to Georgia in the Spring and I don't want to take everything with me. The problem is I'll have something sitting around for a few years and then one day — ta da — I found a use for it. What's a gal to do? Help me!

Hi there!
I have a habit of wanting to keep so much that it's really difficult to turn loose of all the extra stuff.
I hope to go through a bunch of things through out this year.
Always something to do so I shouldn't get bored.
Have a sweet day and God Bless,
d

I do that all the time! I am terrible about giving things away and then needing or wishing I had them 6 months later. This is the choice unfortunately. I cannot wait to see all of the things you are up to! I hope you will share soon. Happy New Year friend

I did that this year too and was very disappointed! Last Summer we had a big yard sale and I sold a lot of holiday decor....this December I was regretting it. It is so hard to know when to throw it and when to keep it. Wow. I guess it just shows how truly BLESSED we are to have these sorts of worries!

I plan to toss all the decorations I've used in the past, hmmm, five, six years, except for the trees, and start fresh next Christmas.

Thanks so much Jane for posting the giveaway button!!!!!

I can really relate to the 'toss or keep' issue - I tend to be a bit of a pack-rat, so I always feel great when I toss things, but inevitably later I need them again . . . good luck with the holiday clean-out!
