I Haven't Lost My Mind...Yet

For the past 2 weeks, I have been getting GRIEF from my family....
I could not find my CAR KEYS!!! (and the clickers for both my car and MacDaddy's car)

I remember bringing them INTO THE HOUSE...but with all the confusion of dogs, Christmas boxes and tissue paper, chatting with DB and SC...I could not find where I put them.

For DAYS...I searched.  Several nights, I even got out of bed to search in new places.  I went through the Christmas boxes I had packed up...the ones that were around the area I had been sitting that fateful night. I searched the TRASH! And I endured the TEASING from my family.

FINALLY...I gave up and conceded that they were truly lost. I had a new key made...for $70+ !!! Ridiculous!!!  But necessary...

Last night...MacDaddy comes to my office with a very sheepish expression on his face. He tells me s_ _ _ happens...and he pulls my keys out of the pocket of  his  windbreaker...WHERE THEY HAVE BEEN RESIDING FOR WEEKS!!!!

For all my boys...and their ladies...my friends...
I AM NOT LOSING MY MIND...YET!!!

LOL... this was so funny. The part that got me was you getting up in the middle of the night to search. Yep! Been there!! Last night! Was looking for an invitation that I have lost. Think I'll ask my husband about it.
Two positive notes:
YOU were the one who lost the keys
YOU have an extra set of keys now.

Hah! We had almost the exact same scenario (actually about 2 weeks after losing one set--which we lost for about 3 weeks--we lost the second set) The main difference was that we only found the keys in the windbreaker pocket literally 2 years later!

Oh my!

I am so AFRAID I'll lose keys that I am COMPULSIVE about putting them in a little plastic tray that is magnetically attached to the door of the drier.

If keys get lost around here, I AUTOMATICALLY blame hubby, since I'm compulsive with them and he is NOT!

OK - - - so a COUPLE of times it really WAS my fault.

So glad the keys were located!
And you aren't losing your mind.

Better to lose your keys than to lose your mind! I found DH's wallet in the freezer once. He's still not managed to explain that one lol. Kat

Too, too funny. I think he needs a "man bag!" All men do then they wouldn't always be losing their things and I guess ours too!

Silly men. They just don't think sometimes.

Vindication is sweet!

BUT, at $70, I'm sure you wish he had put that jacket on sooner!

I remember Sheila calling me last year, going crazy because she couldn't find her keys after coming home from the store. She called again the next day to tell me she finally found them in the fridge with the groceries.

Have fun this weekend and Happy Birthday to your Mom!

Did you say the word, keys? Keys? Oh, yeah, been there, done that! Yeah, baby, YEAH!

I freely admit I am a key loser from the get-go, and some people have suggested that I buy a string to hang them around my neck... NOT! Others have made suggestions of varying degree, St. Anthony's assistance being invoked more times than I care to admit, but oh, I cannot imagine the thought of taking a ribbing like that about ketys and having it turn out that the ribber was the culprit! There have been other things for which my DH has been responsible for which I have taken the heat, but keys... oh, I would love this more than anything!

I hear you, Jane!

XO,

Sheila :-)

Hi Artfully Graced! You did well under pressure...you kept up the good fight with grace...you did not murder your husband, which is a good thing 'cause you might need him down the road sometimes...

A funny post. Sort of. Probably not so funny when you were in the middle of your search and forking out $70 plus.

Reminds me of one of my poems, which you can find on Creative Confections here:

We have all had these moments. And they always happen after you decide to get another key cut!

Oh my goodness! I have to admit that I am laughing, but I know that it really is not funny (at least to you). Especially after dishing out $70 for a new key! OUCH! Hubby owes you big time for all the flak they gave you! I had a wee bit of an issue with my keys last weekend...
