The Ocean

The ocean tells me
You're away, you're away.

The waves call to me
"Come play, come play."

And so I surrendered
my place in the sand

and forgot to remember
all that I planned.

Thanks for that. I can hear the waves and gulls, feel the breeze and salt. Is it really warm enough for swimming?

Thank you for sharing the poem and beach with us! Oh how I wish I was there right now.

I'd love to be at the ocean, walking barefoot in the sand. :)

What perfect words, I hear the beach calling me everyday and I'll probably answer this weekend! The sun is so warm today, I was tempted to forget about the housework, but alas, here I sit, waiting for the next laundry to go in.

Oh, Yes! Yes! Yes!

Loved this post, Jane. I hear it calling my name, too, and I can't wait till we are through March! Yes!

Speaking of names, I called yours on my blog. I did a roll call of thank yous to you and to other bloggers who were so kind as to pass on blog awards last year. So your name is in the honor roll. Just wanted you to know!

XO,

Sheila :-)

Ah, Jane...beautiful ocean/beach photos! I NEED beach! It's 5 degrees here in Michigan tonight - horrid. Spring cannot arrive fast enough for me. Sorry to be so late in visiting you for Outdoor Wednesday. Have a great weekend...Kathy

Hi Jane,
Thanks for your comment, I ended up wearing flip flops all weekend because I was wearing pumps when I left and forgot to stick my regular shoes in my bag :)
Needless to say I didn't go for any walks outside!

That was beautiful....and the pictures?!!! Breathtaking.

You had asked about 'hints' for finding large seashells...around here, the winter months are the best time...and after a storm. That's when I have more luck finding the bigger ones.

Good luck.

Oh how I love the ocean. We live far away from the coast (in fact we are still buried in several blankets of snow.) We have relatives in NC so manage to get to the beach once a year.

My dining room paint Cajun Red is by Sherwin Williams. It was fun having you stop by today! :)
